Yes, you read that right. You read pin-the-hair-on-Justin Bieber. That’s the game I just finished making for my daughter’s Rockstar birthday party.
My daughter is a big Justin Bieber fan. Originally my daughter asked for a Justin Bieber birthday party and well, I don’t throw parties based on licensed characters or celebrities. I like my parties to be original crafted affairs. It took some convincing to change the theme of her party to Rockstar and it did come with some compromises. She insisted that she and her party guests play Pin-the-Hair-on-Justin Bieber. After I stifled my laugh and asked where the idea came from (her head) I explained that such a game did not exist, kind of like the Justin Bieber themed party loot (I have no idea if this stuff even exists, but I did know that I was buying it either way!). Her reply: “You can make it mummy.” So I made it.
Again, this was super easy and super quick thanks to music poster magazines! We bought two music poster magazines, although in hindsight we only needed one. I scanned Justin Bieber’s head, printed out 10 copies of his face and cut out his hair.
Once the hair pieces (ha ha ha, pun not intended) were ready, I laminated the poster so the taped hair pieces(again no pun intended) would be easy to peel off the poster once the game was over.
Anyone who has seen Justin Bieber (and who hasn’t, this kid has a killer PR team!) knows the silhouette of his hair is um, well, recognizable. So recognizable in fact that my soon-to-be 8 year old saw the perfect opportunity for turning his hair into a pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey type game. I can barely type this through laughter induced tear-filled eyes. My daughter however, says this with all seriousness. I’m not sure how she can keep a straight face. I’m not sure if she realizes just how killer her sense of humour is to the adults around her.
The Chelsea Handler/Justin Bieber segment on the recent MTV VMAs makes this game all the more hilarious. Our Pin-the-hair-on-Justin Bieber Game really couldn’t have come at a better time. And you saw it here first!
Seriously can’t stop laughing. Sorry Justin.
