What’s on my cookie sheet this week?

Star-shaped sugar cookies for my girl’s Rockstar birthday party. Last night we mixed and baked, today we got down to the business of decorating! We wanted to create a sugary, sparkling outline on each cookie in party colors, purple and blue. These cookies turned out super yummy, super sparkly and were super easy to make!

We started piping on the royal icing in a thin line around the edge of the cookie.

Immediately after piping the outline, we covered the cookie in sparkling sugar.

Once the cookie was covered in sugar, we gently shook the excess sugar off onto a plate.

And voila, our sparkling sugar star sugar cookie!

Surprisingly, it took much less time to make these sparkling beauties than I expected, which is good cause I’m off to work on the next party project!
