Paper Trees

We are rocking around the paper trees this Christmas season! These fun, little festive trees are a new addition to the we love crafty Tracey Etsy shop and the girls and I have been having fun setting up some wintry forest tableau’s in the studio.

On the cake.

Off the cake.

We like it better on the cake. Such a simple and easy way to dress up a simple cake for the holidays. And these paper trees are super easy to make. Check it out!

To make these paper trees you need a pair of scissors, some glue, and 3 copies of the 5 inch or 10 inch 3D Standing Tree printable from the Happy Holiday DIY Printable Party available in my Etsy shop.

Cut out and fold each of your trees in half. You want to have a clear center fold down the middle of your trees.

Cover one half of a tree in glue.

Gently press the second tree into the first tree, carefully lining up the center folds as closely as possible.

Cover one half of the third tree in glue and gently press into the second tree, again carefully lining up the center folds.

Cover the remaining half of the third tree in glue and gently press into the first tree, bringing all three trees into a full circle, or tripod as the case may be.

And there you have a 3D standing paper tree!

I think a collection of these down the center of a table, or along a mantel would be a lovely way to decorate for a holiday dinner. You could even use the 5″ trees as place card holders for dinner. Just slip a place card with your guests’ name on it into the top of the tree and set the tree on the dinner plate.

There are so many things you could do with with paper trees! Tell me, how would you decorate with the paper trees for the holidays?
