Mad Love | Sap Buckets

Did you know I have a small colelction of sap buckets? Mostly metal, with a couple of orange throwi n for good measure. I need seafoam and aquamarine. Not enough to do this yet. But, maybe, one day.

Parties | A Simple Brunch

Brunch is one of my favorite meals. A perfect blend of breakfast + lunch can include all your favorites in one meal: french toast, fruit, croissant, cucmber + cream cheese sandwiches, throw in a little seafood, apple dumplings and classic cocktails or flavoured seltzers and I am one happy girl. Set a beautiful table and arrange your food nicely on a buffet, hang a tissue paper tassel garland and you have a simple, easy to create party.

I love a simple party with that perfectly homemade look. Not too overdone, simply beautiful in a homespun kind of way yet, almost effortless. That may be why I find myself drawn to this party on A Merry Mishap.

A simple brunch buffet, beautifully laid out and decorated. Love the simple organization of the buffet, love the tassel garland, LOVE the crocheted doily under the cake. Mad love. It’s the simple handmade touches like that which steal my heart away.

Some of my favorite crafty teacher gift ideas

So, I still can’t decide on teacher gifts and I’m running out of time! We do try to give our teachers a homemade gift when we can, a little something from our home to show our thanks and appreciation. Jars of pickles or jam, usually with a gift card for Starbucks or Tim Hortons thrown in.

This year I was thinking a crocheted dish cloth with a bottle of all natural cleaning spray. Is that odd?

Maybe a crocheted face cloth with a bar of handmade soap like this one via Kundhi?

Maybe a jar of homemade lemon sugar scrub via The Beauty Department. Perfect for sloughing the skin and keeping that tan dewy and smooth. With a crocheted facecloth, of course.

I really love the idea of making a bottle of homemade vanilla via Bethany Actually. This would make a beautiful gift any time of year.

I was thinking of putting together some custom stationery and book plates. Hmmm, what to do, what to do. What are your favorite crafty teacher gifts?

It’s the last week of school in Ontario! So naturally, I’m thinking of teacher gifts this week. Since I only have a couple of days to get something together, it’s got to be easy to pull together or crafty.

I like our end of school gifts to be a sweet gift meant to spoil or treat our teachers to something sweet over the summer. I have put together a couple of these ideas for past teachers and they were always well received, but I don’t have a staple end of school teacher gift. Hmm, maybe I should work on that.

A reusable travel cup filled with packets of iced tea via Lisa Storms. Maybe even tuck a little gift card in there.

A hit the beach kit to start the summer off right via The Rachel Berry Blog. Wrap a towel, sunblock, magazine and a snack and attach card. I am really liking this one!

Oh, I have another ombre cake for you today and I have to say, this picture is killing me! The gentle pastel ombre frosting , the matching pastel marshmallows, aaaaah! Gorgeous!
