Yes, I am back! Back from swimming in the Atlantic, back from the land of sun and sand. Le sigh. Even though we have had unseasonally warm temperatures here in Ontario, I do miss the ocean so very much. Especially now that the cold has creeped in again. I have been adjusting to not swimming everyday and keeping busy-busy behind the scenes since I got home. Even though it’s been quiet here, I have been posting over on my Facebook page over the past week, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, get on over there and ‘Like” it to catch that action!
Just before I left for March Break, my friend Magdalena from Oh So Chic Celebrations Event Design and Styling asked if I could put together a pirate theme for her. So of course I said yes! I mean her work is amazing! I knew that if I created something, in her hands, it would look incredible. The pirate theme has been on my list of designs forever and this was the perfect chance to make it happen.
I am dying to see and share pictures of her event, dying I tell you! But I do have a few pictures of this new collection which just sailed into my Etsy shop this morning!
Party circles and party flags. I am loving these party flags, perfect for food and cupcakes.
But wait till you get a look at the just-for-this-collection, mast style party flags. They are awesome!
Seriously awesome, yes?! You can turn any treat into a pirate ship with these party flags, mini treat cups full of carrots or cupcakes. Or make a simple little boat out of construction paper like I did, glue or staple the ends close, place a weighted tealight holder in the bottom and fill with treats. Can you imagine a table full of pirate ships filled with sweet booty for your pirates to fill loot bags? I can!
Need some toppers for those loot bags? Those are included in the set as well.
The full Pirate Collection is available in my Etsy shop and it includes Party Circles, Bunting, Bottle Wrappers, Tent Cards, Favor Tags, Loot Bag Toppers, Party Flags, Mast-Style Party Flags (for ye boats filled with eats and treats) and Scrapbooking Papers.
Invitations are sold separately.
I’m off me hearties! Can you tell it’s Talk Like a Pirate Day around here?

I can’t quite pick a favorite. But it does make me want to blanket my city in hearts, yarn-bomb style of course.
Another tutorial today, one of my daughters’ favorite party favors. Seriously, every year she asks if I’m going to make her hot chocolate cones again. She loves them! And what kid wouldn’t really, a giant cone full of hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and other tasty treats. Yeah, its a hot chocolate lovers dream, and a foodie crafters’ delight! They’re easy to make and the combinations are endless!
The hot chocolate cone favors I made this year, and used in the new Happy Holidays DIY Printable Party pictures included chocolate mint marshmallows and chocolate spoons. Sometimes I crush up some peppermints and layer hot chocolate mix, peppermints, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. One of my combo is hot chocolate mix, crushed chicken bones (you know, the cinnamon candies filled with chocolate? Not real chicken bones, that would be eeeew!) and mini marshmallows. My other favorite would be hot chocolate, salted caramels, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. Mmmmm yum!
If you’ve never made hot chocolate cones before, they are super simple to put together. All you need is hot chocolate mix (I pick mine up in bulk), 6 or 8 inch pastry bags and any toppings you like in your hot chocolate.
First, I fill my pastry bags with 3/4 cup of hot chocolate mix using a 1/4 mixing cup. The 1/4 cup fits perfectly inside the bag for gentle pouring of the hot chocolate mix and minimizes the amount of hot chocolate powder on the sides of the bag.

Pour in 1/4 cup of hot chocolate powder into the pastry bag and gently shake your pastry bag so the hot chocolate powder fills the tip of the pastry bag.
Add another 1/2 cup of hot chocolate powder so the pastry bag is is a little over 1/2 full.
Now it’s time to layer the hot chocolate toppings! For these hot chocolate cones, I set a chocolate spoon into the center of the hot chocolate mix.

Filled with marshmallows until the bag was 3/4 full.
Then I gave the bag a nice, tight twist.
I closed the top with a twist tie, covered the twist tie with some ribbon and added a favor tag from my new Happy Holidays Collection.
Now go grab some supplies and get crafting your own hot chocolate cones! What topping combinations will you try?
I love candy! There I said it, I love candy and cookies. Cookies are my kryptonite. There is a little girl I know (Sadie who is now 4), a candy lover and a fellow December baby who feels much the same way I do. So when the opportunity came up to put together a candy, Christmas inspired birthday for her, I couldn’t help but say YES!
I have been wanting to design a Candy Christmas printable since hitting the Bakerella book signing at Teatro Verde last December (almost exactly one year ago actually). Their pink trees were brimming with candy decorations, so dreamy, so sweet, so I couldn’t get it done in time. So I held onto the idea and well, the time came. So one little girl had a fantastically candy Christmas birthday and I have a new Candy Christmas DIY Printable Party to share with you! I feel like I’ve been hoarding this bubblegum coloured, candy infused collection all to myself for far too long.
I am super excited to formally introduce you to my new Candy Christmas DIY Pintable Party! I am in mad love with this candy infused collection. Such mad love, that it is available in a BIRTHDAY version (for all those winter baby’s who love candy) AND a COOKIE EXCHANGE version (for all those December cookie swaps)!!! Mad, mad love.
The Candy Christmas Collection comes with everything you see here and more!

I am so very eager for snow! So far our December has been a rainy one and it has left me wondering, when is the white stuff going to fall? Not that I’m looking forward to shoveling, but I am looking forward to hosting an afternoon of snowman making so I can use my new Happy Holidays Collection DIY Printable Party!
I am loving the bright blue and green of this collection. Although we don’t typically have a green Christmas in these parts, in many parts of the world a green Christmas is the norm and I designed this collection with that in mind. Like South Florida. It’s always a green Christmas in South Florida and I do love the sight of Christmas lights wrapped around a palm tree.
What I am especially loving about this collection (besides those donut snowmen) are my new paper trees.
I meant to get these paper trees into the shop last year, but the month of December got away from me. This year I knew I had to get these paper trees into a collection because I love them, and I had a feeling you would love them too. And well, they look positively festive in blue stripes.
This collection is perfect for those fun in the snow kind of holiday gatherings, but it is also perfect for winter birthdays! Do you want to have a holly, jolly birthday? I don’t why, but I want to sing “It’s a jolly, holiday with Mary!”
The Happy Holidays Collection is in my Etsy shop for 50% OFF for the next week. Invites are listed separately so if you’ve already invited friends over, you’re not paying for something you don’t need!
Grab it now so you’re ready when the snow falls, or for when your snowman inflatable is dancing across your lawn!
