Another tutorial today, one of my daughters’ favorite party favors. Seriously, every year she asks if I’m going to make her hot chocolate cones again. She loves them! And what kid wouldn’t really, a giant cone full of hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and other tasty treats. Yeah, its a hot chocolate lovers dream, and a foodie crafters’ delight! They’re easy to make and the combinations are endless!
The hot chocolate cone favors I made this year, and used in the new Happy Holidays DIY Printable Party pictures included chocolate mint marshmallows and chocolate spoons. Sometimes I crush up some peppermints and layer hot chocolate mix, peppermints, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. One of my combo is hot chocolate mix, crushed chicken bones (you know, the cinnamon candies filled with chocolate? Not real chicken bones, that would be eeeew!) and mini marshmallows. My other favorite would be hot chocolate, salted caramels, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. Mmmmm yum!
If you’ve never made hot chocolate cones before, they are super simple to put together. All you need is hot chocolate mix (I pick mine up in bulk), 6 or 8 inch pastry bags and any toppings you like in your hot chocolate.
First, I fill my pastry bags with 3/4 cup of hot chocolate mix using a 1/4 mixing cup. The 1/4 cup fits perfectly inside the bag for gentle pouring of the hot chocolate mix and minimizes the amount of hot chocolate powder on the sides of the bag.
Pour in 1/4 cup of hot chocolate powder into the pastry bag and gently shake your pastry bag so the hot chocolate powder fills the tip of the pastry bag.
Add another 1/2 cup of hot chocolate powder so the pastry bag is is a little over 1/2 full.
Now it’s time to layer the hot chocolate toppings! For these hot chocolate cones, I set a chocolate spoon into the center of the hot chocolate mix.
Filled with marshmallows until the bag was 3/4 full.
Then I gave the bag a nice, tight twist.
I closed the top with a twist tie, covered the twist tie with some ribbon and added a favor tag from my new Happy Holidays Collection.
Now go grab some supplies and get crafting your own hot chocolate cones! What topping combinations will you try?
I love candy! There I said it, I love candy and cookies. Cookies are my kryptonite. There is a little girl I know (Sadie who is now 4), a candy lover and a fellow December baby who feels much the same way I do. So when the opportunity came up to put together a candy, Christmas inspired birthday for her, I couldn’t help but say YES!
I have been wanting to design a Candy Christmas printable since hitting the Bakerella book signing at Teatro Verde last December (almost exactly one year ago actually). Their pink trees were brimming with candy decorations, so dreamy, so sweet, so I couldn’t get it done in time. So I held onto the idea and well, the time came. So one little girl had a fantastically candy Christmas birthday and I have a new Candy Christmas DIY Printable Party to share with you! I feel like I’ve been hoarding this bubblegum coloured, candy infused collection all to myself for far too long.
I am super excited to formally introduce you to my new Candy Christmas DIY Pintable Party! I am in mad love with this candy infused collection. Such mad love, that it is available in a BIRTHDAY version (for all those winter baby’s who love candy) AND a COOKIE EXCHANGE version (for all those December cookie swaps)!!! Mad, mad love.

I am so very eager for snow! So far our December has been a rainy one and it has left me wondering, when is the white stuff going to fall? Not that I’m looking forward to shoveling, but I am looking forward to hosting an afternoon of snowman making so I can use my new Happy Holidays Collection DIY Printable Party!
I am loving the bright blue and green of this collection. Although we don’t typically have a green Christmas in these parts, in many parts of the world a green Christmas is the norm and I designed this collection with that in mind. Like South Florida. It’s always a green Christmas in South Florida and I do love the sight of Christmas lights wrapped around a palm tree.
What I am especially loving about this collection (besides those donut snowmen) are my new paper trees.
I meant to get these paper trees into the shop last year, but the month of December got away from me. This year I knew I had to get these paper trees into a collection because I love them, and I had a feeling you would love them too. And well, they look positively festive in blue stripes.
This collection is perfect for those fun in the snow kind of holiday gatherings, but it is also perfect for winter birthdays! Do you want to have a holly, jolly birthday? I don’t why, but I want to sing “It’s a jolly, holiday with Mary!”
The Happy Holidays Collection is in my Etsy shop for 50% OFF for the next week. Invites are listed separately so if you’ve already invited friends over, you’re not paying for something you don’t need!
Grab it now so you’re ready when the snow falls, or for when your snowman inflatable is dancing across your lawn!
Is everyone feeling festive? I am most definitely feeling festive! Working on Christmas inspired birthday parties and new printables for the festive season. There is a lot of joy coming your way, starting with today!
I just put last year’s Classic Vintage Collection back in my Etsy shop. The first of many this holiday season.
Since I love this pattern (it really is one of the patterns my mind immediately wanders to when I think vintage Christmas) and I am loving coordinating packaging, I added Pillow Boxes and Monogram Gift Tags to the Classic Vintage collection this year.
Festive packaging for all your tiny edibles and sweet surprises.
A new design to the shop this year, simple Monogram Gift Tags.
The Pillow Boxes (set of 2!) and Monogram Gift Tags are available separately in my shop!
The Classic Vintage Collection is on sale for $15.00 for the entire Christmas season! Oh yes it is. I even added the set of digital scrapbooking papers as a separate listing, just in case you don’t want the set but you want to get your craft on with classic Christmas patterns. Go on, get your craft on!
I am a lover of pretty packaging. Whether it is a perfectly wrapped gift, a sweetly decorated bag for favors or creative packaging for homemade candies. If I am throwing a simple party for one of my girls or a friend, sometimes I just make a high towering cake and set out some sweets or little gifts in sweet little packages. Like the pillow box.
Pillow boxes, such pretty petite packaging. Perfect for packaging homemade taffy and nougat for the holidays. I love to wrap earrings and necklaces in pretty tissue paper and tuck them in pillow boxes to gift on birthdays.
And if the pillow box is sized just right, they are perfect for wrapping gift cards. A gift card may be a simple, easy to grab gift but when wrapped in something sweet like a pillow box, it is a delight to open. Throw in a little sprinkle of sparkly confetti and it’s a party in a box!
That’s why I’ve added these sweet little boxes to my Etsy shop. And just like the Sweet and Simple Collection, the colour and pattern is customizable. Throwing a small holiday affair with the new Sweet and Simple Collection? Add on some pillow boxes for a perfectly matching and oh so sweet favor for your guests to take home.
The Sweet and Simple Pillow Boxes are now in my Etsy shop! But I want to give you a pillow box so you can wrap all the sweet, little things you may be gifting! Just like yesterday, I want to share the love I have for this new collection with you and entry is simple!
Head on over to the Sweet and Simple Collection launch post to take a look at the 20 colours and 6 patterns available in the Sweet and Simple Collection. Then come back here and tell me your favorite pattern and colour in the comments below. Don’t forget to leave me your name and email address, and I’ll send you your favorite Sweet and Simple Pillow Box! Only one entry per person, thank you muchly.
You have until 11:59 pm EST to tell me your favorite combination. So tell me, what is your favorite pattern/colour combo?
I love a sweet and simple party. A small affair with nothing but a 4 layer cake topped off with bunting, homemade marshmallows, drinks and party hats.
Yes, I must admit I do so love a pretty party hat. It can be hard to keep them on the kidlets at times, but there’s mama proudly sporting her hat all day long.
If they coordinate with pretty party paperie, all the better! A little tissue paper flower at the top, an elastic stapled to the sides to keep it snug around my chin, and I’m a happy girl. But I also like to wear flowers on my head (fabric and tissue). I think this must be related.
So for you lovers off all things sweet, and all things party hat, I now have Sweet and Simple Party Hats in my Etsy shop.
And they are completely customizable! Just like the Sweet and Simple Collection, all you have to do is tell me the colour and pattern you love and I’ll make you a party hat, so you can print off as many as you need. Perfectly matching and so very sweet.
The Sweet and Simple Party Hats are now in my Etsy shop! But I want to give every lucky reader a party hat of their own! Yes, EVERY reader because I am that excited about this new collection and I would love for you to spread the word! Entry is simple!

My head has been awash in inspiration these past few days, and very little of it has been Halloween inspired! But starting today, I am going back into Halloween mode, tis the season after all and a very short-lived season at that!
I thought I would start with a Halloween treat craft. I’ve had some emails about these sweet ghostly goodies I presented a couple weeks ago during the launch of my Happy Halloween DIY Printable Party. Remember this sweet girlie ghost that I am so in love with?
The Ghostly Goodies treat packages really are super easy and fast to make. You can easily whip up a dozen in an hour.
To make these ghosts, all you need is the Happy Halloween DIY Printable Party Collection, toilet paper rolls, crepe paper streamers, glue, and some treat bags filled with sweets! Then it really is just wrapping the toilet paper roll in crepe paper and securing with glue, adding the ghost onto the front and slipping the treat bag into the toilet roll on the back!
A cute treat package for your kidlets to carry around with them while they munch. And it’s all paper, so nothing breakable. Always a plus at parties don’t you think?
I put together a quick pictorial so you can see how I made these sweet girlie ghost treat packages.
Super simple right? The great thing about the treat packages is that they don’t have to be ghosts, they can be zombies, vampires, jack-o-lanterns, any of your favorite creepy Halloween characters. All you need is an image that is slightly taller than the toilet paper roll. The possibilities are endless!
Are you going to make some treat packages this Halloween? Leave me a message in the comments below, or better yet, if you make some treat packages, send me pics. I would love to see them!
